I always wanted to be a Vine star. I wasn’t, thank God

Billie Eilish

Jeez. Billie Eilish a Vine star. This is why children are said to be dreamers. But now, Billie Eilish is vibing at a whole different level, with a whole different audience.

I tried. I desperately tried finding an underdog as a hero for this month. Someone who had the determination of Greta Thunberg and the funk of Jojo Siwa would have been ideal. Then Billie’s song My Future just popped up on my screen with a mysterious and compelling thumbnail picture on Youtube’s suggested videos, so I wanted to give it a try. The lyrics sucked out every piece of gloom in my life and dropped me off into heaven on earth. I was no longer looking for the perfect hero of the month. I wasn’t looking for Superwoman or Aquaman. I was looking for Billie Eilish. Her own type of hero who doesn’t care about the public’s opinion. She makes her own destiny and future. All hail Queen Billie Eilish.

Billie’s struggles are fairly well-known. Everyone knows that she was not exactly in the perfect place a couple of years ago, and everyone also knows how far she’s come since then. She’s much more than just her saddening stories though. Her real talent is trumping the norms with her superior confidence and songwriting ability.

As teenagers and young adults, we all feel lonely and have slight insecurities. With every single one of her songs, Billie has plunged into the darkest corners of our hearts and managed to connect with us at a much deeper level rather than just the basic “p*ssy, h*e, d*ck” stuff. She does have a few b*tches in there though just to spice the song up.

Through Billie and her experiences, everyone has learned that it’s perfectly normal to be heartbroken, lonely, miserable, and vulnerable. Expressing emotions, not just happy emotions, keep people from becoming a real-life pressure cooker. Through her songs, Billie takes her fans through a movie where fighting her personal issues and depression is the main character and looks, makeup, and fulfilling the audience are the side-show. Her lyrics show the world what battles people, even the privileged, have to face. Her songs explore many different ideas including the afterlife, sorrow, and romance. She could have just ended her movie with suicide or the perfect romance but she’s continuing to direct her story but with a new purpose: to inspire and embark on the journey on finding her future.
