Truth or dare. Why do you play?
Psychology’s a wonky word right? People think about the psychology of celebrities, study the psychology of humans, and predict people’s thoughts based on human psychology. But, I bet you’ve never heard about the PSYCHOLOGY of truth or dare.
What is Truth or Dare? In Outer Banks, it’s the iconic scene that makes John B and Sarah Cameron open up to each other. In the movie Truth or Dare, it’s a life threatening decision. For us, it’s just a simple game to have fun. For those of you who don’t know what truth or dare is, you’ve been living under a rock, and I would encourage you to explore.
For parents, truth or dare is a very low-life game. They think it only exists for flirtatious reasons, but they don’t understand the deep bondage.

There are many different types of people who play truth or dare:
1. The friendly
These are the neighborhood friendly teens who cannot refuse to join the game. They’re only around to get to know their friends better.
2. The flirtatious
These are the boys and girls who are testing the dating environment.
3. The daring
These are the teens who are fearless and want to spice their lives up with a game of truth or dare.
4. The bored
The bored teens are the ones that have no other choice but to play a round of truth or dare in hopes of becoming more interesting
5. The curious
These are the teens who want to stick their nose into everyone’s business.
6. The partiers
They’re the teens who would most probably go on to play “truth or drink” when they’re older.
Teens that are playing in a small group are most likely interested in knowing individuals better and for flirtatious reasons. The people who are playing truth or dare in larger groups are more likely to be bored, drunk, and curious.
